Artist, educator, advocate for musician rights
Wheel of Fortune Records was born from lived experience—navigating the music industry as an independent artist while understanding the legal frameworks that shape it.
With a physics degree and years at the Intellectual Property Office, I learned how copyright, trademarks, and legal systems work from the inside. But it wasn't until I stepped into my own music career as Sad Cypress that I truly understood the gap between legal knowledge and practical application for artists.
Most musicians never learn about publishing deals, mechanical rights, or contract negotiation until they're already locked into unfavorable terms. I created this platform to change that—offering the education and support I wish I'd had when I started.
Physics degree providing analytical and research skills
Years at the Intellectual Property Office understanding copyright law
Performing as Sad Cypress, navigating the industry firsthand
Currently studying contract law and music industry frameworks
Working with established professionals through CULT Cymru
PRS and PPL member, trademark holder, building sustainable structures
The music industry shouldn't be a mystery you solve too late. Understanding your rights, your contracts, and your options should be part of every artist's foundation—not an afterthought when something goes wrong.
This isn't about becoming a lawyer. It's about having enough knowledge to ask the right questions, recognize red flags, and build a career on your own terms.
